Correction Post: Lab 6

On lab 6, I had a lot of grammatical and spelling mistakes on my Sakai submission. Here are all of my corrections, I posted them on here so that I could gain my points back as it says in the "Final Blog Review"! In the assignment description you said:

"If you missed points on assignments along the way, this is your chance to correct any problems, misspellings, etc. on your blog and submit it. I will go through and look at your blog to make sure everything we've done up to this point is posted, everything is spelled correctly, etc. "

Here are the corrections:

I chose the website crazydelisciousfood.com. Like mine, it's a site about all of the scrumptious foods the writer encounters. Although it is in fact a personal blog, one can not tell from the url for the url doesn't include "blogspot", "wordpress", "tumblr", etc. To me, based on the url, it seems to be a legitimate website about great food.

My definition of a legitimate website is being a credible source that is updated multiple times a day, daily. Contrary to my initial thought about it being a reliable site, I continued to explore the site more and realized website wasn’t too credible. The url describes what exactly you are SUPPOSED to find on the page. Instead of being greeted by a photo of crazy delicious food, as the url implies, I was greeted by a close up of a horse, which is never appetizing.

On the writer's "about" page, she was super casual and had no facts or history posted about her site. Instead she spoke of being a newlywed whose mother hated cooking. The only credentials displayed on the page were her testimonies and stories of how she began cooking. As I continued to look around on the site, I realized it isn't updated often, at all. The last post was put up in August.

The third step in evaluating the believability of a site is to look for indicators of quality information. There are absolutely no footnotes, bibliography, or additional sites. Now it is pretty clear this is just a blog documenting the things this woman has cooked and how she is sorry she doesn't update as much as she should. According to alexa.com however, in the past she had been very consistent in posting posts. At this moment in time the site is ranked 6,173,685 globally. In the past three months the estimated percentage of global Internet users who visit crazydeliciousfood.com is .000019. This site doesn't seem to be too popular at all. Based on the lack of professionalism, casual language, and true love of food, it is easy to see that this site was created to entertain and to inform (kind of). It entertains by showing some foods. It was also serves as self-entertainment for the writer. It was informative because she posted ingredients and recipe that people did use. It's a cute website, despite the startling picture of the horse when you first visit it. I will definitely be using the site for some recipes and tips.

A Hungry Hello!

For the past three months I've been on the look out for scrumptious food that will take my mind off of the deliciousness I devoured while studying abroad in Italy this past May.  Sadly, my quest carries on, unfulfilled, for I have not found anything more tasty than authentic meatballs, freshly light olive oil, filling 4-6 course meals, veal patties, meatballs and GELATO!

These pictures are just a glimpse of what I ate while galavanting overseas.  Contrary to what you may be thinking now, this blog was not created to bash American food, diss restaurants that serve "real" Italian food, or dismiss EVERY kind of food that isn't Italian... No, not at all.  I am merely blogging about the enormous amounts of food I consume in a day, and searching for "food that will take my mind off of the deliciousness I devoured while studying abroad in Italy" gives me a legitamate reason too. Today, I had chinese food from New Wok 88!

It was good, the chicken was fresh, the seasoning was on point, the rice was filling, and the broccoli gave me a sort of healthy feel. Although good, the ginger chicken I ate from the Chinese restaurant in Italy was 100 times better than the General Tso's chicken I had today. Surprising, yes I know!

My name is Montana Symone, and I'm on the hunt for some yummy food for my tummy.  Be prepared to read about all of my late night icecream runs, fast food treats, and yummy dinning experiences!  I will also be posting some of my specialty recipes! Get ready, and happy chewing!
